Fill your Christmas Shopping Lists with Zappos while there is still Time!

The countdown for Christmas is on and day zero is approaching fast! Do you have your Christmas shopping list complete or do you need some suggestions? Well, I have some ideas for all those little angels on your list. Burton snow gear has the right outdoor wear for boys and girls of all ages. Just imagine the smile on those faces come Christmas morning when they see the jackets, hats, bottoms, boots, gloves and all the gear for a great day of outdoor skiing or sled riding. I remember those sled riding days in winter and how special the outing was to me. Make the children in your family happy by dressing them in the best gear to keep them warm and snug while they enjoy that white Christmas vacation!

Christmas is a good Time for Angels

This photo is the representation of our Mother, Suzanne Ellen Colpetzer who passed away from complications from leukemia in November 2002. We fondly remember her today as a gentle reminder how much she loved and believed in both angels and the power of miracles.  In Suzanne's last days of her life on earth, she witnessed angels and asked us to share that witness around the nation. Angels for Suzanne took to the streets and the road around the United States.

Our website is being moved to a new hosted site. You'll be able to find Angels of The Light soon.

Michael's House offers hope for Drug Rehabilitation

Residential drug rehab centers are places that offer specialized treatment on site. This type of facility is good for someone who suffers a severe addiction and cannot trust their own will to resist falling into the habit again. Drug rehabilitation is a professional field that requires proper training and education to ensure that those people needing help will have qualified treatment providers.

Drug Treatment encompasses several modalities of therapy both clinical and pyschological. Centers that specialize in drug addiction rehabilitation staff these facilities with counselors, psychologists, detox specialists, and medical personnel who are trained to deal with the withdrawal.

California Drug Rehab centers have very specialized treatment that includes group counseling. This is a very effective form of therapy and shows the greatest progress in recovery. Group therapy is a trademark in most California drug rehab centers because these facilities recognize the effectiveness. Incorporated with the other support techniques, centers like Michael's House offer comprehensive treatment to treat the whole individual. Addiction is a learned behavior pattern so the objective is to teach alternative behavior patterns and responses to stress or the triggers that put someone in this state of dependency. Rehab institutions gear their programs to teach people how to change this addiction pattern.

If you or someone that you love suffers from any kind of drug or alcohol addiction, there is hope. Advancements in medicine, nutrition, counseling and communications offers modern treatment centers dynamic therapy regimens to really help the addicted person quit. Don't try to go it alone and suffer because you fail to overcome. Instead, find help at a reputable Drug Treatment Center. There are many locations in California that offer multiple types of treatment including residential care, outpatient, group therapies, and alternative programs. Find one that suits your needs and let Michael's House help you access the information that will put you on the road to recovery.

If you need help for a loved one, please take the time to read more about addiction and talk to some specialists and professionals at treatment facilities. Learn about the problem so you can be part of the wellness focus for yourself or your loved one. Remember that you are not alone and help is available. Make a phone call to a treatment center today.

Please help find a Home for Mr. Gibbs - our Canine Friend

Seeking angels for Mr. Gibbs, a loving compassionate dog who needs lots of love and a family. Please help find him a home this week. We only have a week to find him a home. There is no charge for adopting Mr. Gibbs. He needs rescued by love.

Tell everyone that you know. Call 814-943-3180 if you want to be Mr. Gibbs new family. Or send an email to themidnightwriter1@gmail.com. Tweet @midnightwriter1 with a Direct Message.

Mr Gibbs was picked up by the Police along the highway. Police thought the dog was a hit and run victim so they took him to the vet. The veterarinarian does not think he was hit, rather, a stray for awhile, probably broke his chain. She feels he was probably tied outside most of his life. He has a bad foot, so he limps on his right side. His estimated age is between 6 and 8 years old. He is thought to be a collie, lab and possibly shepard mix. He is very gentle, and loving, and starved for attention.

Mr.  Gibbs is looking for a good home. It must be indoors as he has already spent most of his life tied to a tree. That's the only stipulation the vet has given for the future caretaker for Mr. Gibbs. The Vet said she will neuter him, give him all of his shots, and take care of his foot at no charge.

It is suggested by the Veterinarian that Mr. Gibbs would make a nice dog for an older couple. If you know any one who would be interested in taking this precious dog into their home please contact us right away. We don't have much time! He needs to be adopted within the week.

Call now at 814-943-3180 if you want to adopt Mr. Gibbs. Angels for Gabriel is screening the calls so the veterinarian doesn't get bombarded with phone calls. We will connect you with the Vet if you pass our screening. Everyone who has been touched by this beautiful canine soul wants the very best for our new friend. You can call us between 9:30 am and 9:00 pm. If no one answers, please leave a message, name and phone number where we can return your call. Angels for Gabriel is located in Pennsylvania on Eastern Time so decide how far you are willing to travel. We're in Altoona which is located about 30 minutes from the Vet's clinic that is caring for Mr. Gibbs.

Be an angel today and help us find a home.

Houston is a Vast City to Newcomers

Relocating is a bit intimidating for the first timer.  I remember very well so I want to share some helpful information to any one facing this event in their lives.

About twenty - four years ago, I packed my bags and left my hometown for the first time for Houston, Texas. It was my dream city even though I knew very little about it except what I saw on the tv shows and movies. Of course, that was romanticized. Nothing prepared me for the challenges I would face finding an apartment or house in the city. Houston apartments were so vast and huge compared to the complexes and small units in Pennsylvania. It was a total culture shock to me when I saw the giant skyscraper buildings and tenement apartments in the city that seemed to stretch the entire city block.

Houston luxury apartments fill this huge city and add beauty to the fantastic Houston skyline. I wondered how in the world I would find an apartment in such a vast place. Even more, how would I afford one? The apartment locator rental service steered me in the right direction to places that fit into my price range. The staff made calls to landlords and apartment managers for me to set appointments and to handle rental applications. I even had the opportunity to receive guided tours of several places before I chose one. If I had it to do again, I would use this service.

I had no idea how to find a place so I turned to an apartment locator for help. They had me settled into an apartment that fit all my needs within a couple days. The city was so large and I didn't know my way around. Without help, I would have given up. Don't put yourself in that daunting position. Call upon the professionals who specialize in relocation and locating apartments.

Business.com is a great directory to find just about any type of service available to business professionals and people who travel for business.  Try using this resource when you need to find a unique service.

Settling in for a Long Winter's Nap

Heark! Is that Santa I hear prancing on the rooftop? It will be a mere blink until Mr. Claus squeezes down your chimney to leave gifts under your tree. Are you ready for him to make his appearance? You better be sure to get those Letters to Santa before time slips away. When you finish listing all the gifts that you need him to deliver this year, then you can settle down for a long winter's nap.

Coupons will save Money on Holiday Shopping

The holidays are upon us and the Christmas shopping season is set to begin. If you're like me, saving money is a plus for your budget especially during the Christmas holiday. All those gifts that you want to buy for your friends and loved ones can really add up and put a big strain on your cash flow. Smart shoppers use coupons all the time but how many people know about using online coupons from the internet?  I'm so excited about it that I wanted to share my great find to get me started on Christmas shopping and saving money at the same time.

Visit one website that I found recently called savings.com and watch the video to learn how it all works. Coupons are easy to download right from the website. The Coupons are good for products and services of all kinds.  Save money on purchases made on all major brands, products, services and just about anything you can imagine. Get those Santa letters out and start making your shopping wish lists for all the good boys and girls on your list this year.  The key here is to save money and buy more for your money this Christmas and all year long.

The holidays present a special opportunity to give unique gifts like a day on the golf course for your Dad with one of his golfing buddies. Now this is an elite sport so use golf coupons to lower the cost. Are you getting excited yet? My brother in law plays golf every Sunday so I have him in mind for this savings.

When you shop for yourself or the ladies in your life, you want to buy something special for Christmas or a birthday or anniversary. Some fashions are a little too steep unless you can save a large enough percentage of the total cost. For example, I love some of the name brand fashion lines for women so I look for Lane Bryant Coupons. The savings are great and there are plenty of store outlets where the coupons can be redeemed. As for the golf day gift, check the listing for a golf course near you and be sure to tell your loved one if they need to drive very far!

The internet is a great place to find all sorts of Business Information. The resources are vast and impressive. As for this online coupon site,  you really need to see it for yourself to believe it. Hundreds of brands and thousands of products span its pages along with stores most commonly located at shopping malls and plazas. Included in the vast listings are travel discounts on airfare and kids toys or clothing, books, videos, clothing, electronics and more. Bookmark this site and tell your friends about it. Swap information about great coupon savings and let me know if you find some great irresistible deals on Christmas items for children and angels.
Have a wonderful Christmas and please come back to let us know how much you saved with coupons this year!

Ministry Relocated to Pennsylvania for One Year

This may come as a surprise to a lot of people who know Cephas and me because we have continually traveled for fourteen years together. The longest stop we had was a six month stay in Mount Shasta, California in 2003. While it was great fun living in such a spectacular place, the road called us to embrace yet another mission. We're not sure why the Holy Spirit brought us "home" to the place of my birth, but we are positive it is connected to working with family and meeting new people in my hometown. Cephas and I are anxious to strengthen our roots with our family so we'll be focusing that effort from a stationery home in Altoona for one year. Beyond one year, we don't know what will happen.

If you are unfamiliar with our ministry work aside from the angels for Gabriel campaign, visit our website at Angels of The Light. Keep in mind that the website has not been updated in awhile, so bear with us as we play catch up. We've been in town less than two weeks and just rented a house two days ago, so we're still moving in, cleaning and unpacking and grounding ourselves.

We'll be posting updates on the stories about Gabriel and on the new foundation in his name Angels for Gabriel. Watch for a lot of work being done through Jesus Christ in honor of this little soul who has returned to be with Him.

Our dear sister Jan is very ill and needs some intensive surgery, so we'll be writing about this experience and asking for your prayers. We want to launch an angels campaign in her honor. Please mail cards to her now at Angels of The Light Interfaith Ministry, 360 South 4th Avenue PMB 234 Pocatello, Idaho 83201. Mark on the back of the envelope "Angels for Janis" and we'll make sure she receives them. If you want a confirmation or reply, please supply a return address or send your email to angelsforgabriel@gmail.com.

Our foundation will be launched before Christmas so please return here often to watch for updates.

God bless and keep you.

Still Fund Raising for Name Plaque for Gabriel's Grave

Hello to all friends, family and supporters of little Gabriel. It's been a week since I posted on here and that is partly because I am catching my breath and my second wind. The event caught up to me and I felt my own grief over the tragic loss we all suffered when Gabriel drowned.

The other reason that I hesitated to post is that I wanted ample time for the funeral and river photos to be top feature out of respect. I hope you really appreciated the beautiful flowers that some of Gabriel's loved ones took to the site where he crossed over. It was a labor of love indeed.

Here is the update on what's happening. We are still gathering floating donations that are coming by mail and routing them to the cemetery. Some folks are sending money orders directly to the cemetery and I know at least one person sent one directly to Woodstock at his home by my request. We don't know how much has been raised total for the name plaque yet, but I'll call the cemetery tomorrow to find out from Charles. My cell phone does not work on Highway 101 so if you need to reach me, Summer Breeze, or Raven, email us at angelsforgabriel@gmail.com.

I intend to launch a full scale fundraiser again in hopes of raising the total needed to pay off whatever costs remain for the grave plaque. If you want to help in any way, you can send money to the cemetery or donate to paypal at angelsforgabriel@gmail.com. Be sure to write a memo that it is for Gabriel Jaden Coates Memorial Fund. If you want to sponsor an angel fundraiser under our foundation, contact me for instructions.

I'll post any new updates tomorrow.

Thank you all for your love, compassion and support during this heartbreaking time. May the peace of Jesus Christ give us comfort.

Photos from River after Funeral

Some friends returned to the Antelope Creek where Gabriel drowned to place a cross and the flower wreath. I loaded the pictures onto my laptop so I could upload and share those photos here.

Raising Funds for Name Plaque for Gabriel's Grave

Please help us raise the funds for a name plaque for Gabriel's grave. It doesn't feel right to have an unmarked grave so we are calling on all good samaritans with a heart for this cause.

I know if it was my little boy, I would want the same love and compassion for my child's burial. In fact, I had parents who helped me when my first son died as an infant, so I know how it feels to lose a child. I was devastated for months and money for a burial and funeral was the furthest thing from my mind.

Donations can be sent directly by paypal to angelsforgabriel@gmail.com or mail checks and money orders to :
Greenwood Cemetery
1757 J Street, Arcata, CA. 95901
(707) 822-1664.
If you send checks or money orders to the cemetery, please include a note with the child's name, "Gabriel Jaden Coates" in care of Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fund so Charles will know what it is to be used for. Donations can be made directly to the cemetery over the phone by credit card, but the manager Charles Howard, would rather have all funds go to the Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fund for record keeping purposes. He prefers it that way although we won't discourage other donations.

I know we have been asking a lot but when you do not have the money to pay for such services, what is a a family to do? I would pray and ask God to send me some angels.

When our dear mother Suzanne passed away in 2002, we began the Angels for Suzanne campaign to raise funds for her treatements for leukemia and to raise awareness about this ravaging illness. We traveled the nation with angels praying for miracles with people who visited our tables. It was the most enriching spiritual experience of our lives for my husband Cephas and me.

Please help us to share this legacy of hope and faith and miracles for Gabriel.

Funeral for Gabriel Jaden Coates

In beloved memory of Gabriel Jaden Coates, we celebrate the memories of his life while resting in the assurance that he is in God's hands as a bright immortal spirit. We have hope in knowing that we shall be together in eternity with Gabriel some day. Life is eternal and all things work according to God's will. We need only trust in Him and peace will come within.

Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fundraiser

Today we continued our fund raising efforts in a different way. We (Raven & Summer Breeze) set up an angels display using the same display method we used for our mother who died from leukemia. This display of angels with flyers and prayer books and a ledger to sign opens up dialogue with people who want to share compassion and stories.

Angels for Gabriel will inspire, console, uplift, assist in mourning and give hope to thousands across the nation as this Memorial Foundation travels the nation in honor of Gabriel Jaden Coates. May he shine brighter than the brightest stars in eternity. We love you Gabriel.

Deadline Closing in on Memorial Funds for Funeral Parlor

Today is the deadline to pay for the coffin. We still need a total of $650.00 so please keep on with your fund raising efforts. Donations can be made over the phone by credit card directly to the funeral home today. After this evening, please send all donations by paypal or direct bank deposit. The remaining funds raised will go to the cemetery for plot and burial services.

The funeral services take place
Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 4:20 pm at :

Girdner Funeral Chapel
202 South Oregon Street
Yreka, California 96067
(530) 842-3434

The cemetery needs $1593.00 to cover the plot and the burial. The service in Arcata takes place on Thursday between 4-4:30pm.
Greenwood Cemetery
1757 J Street, Arcata, CA. 95901
(707) 822-1664.

Donations can be made directly to the cemetery over the phone by credit card, but the manager Charles Howard, would rather have all funds go to the Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fund for record keeping purposes. He prefers it that way although we won't discourage other donations.

Hello everyone. We have good news and some news that is a little disquieting. Today is the deadline to pay for the coffin. Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fund just made a payment by paypal card to Girdner Funeral Parlor in the amount of $550.00. Thank you all for your donations and especially for your compassionate love.

Here is the breakdown on the coffin charges, as we understand them right now.

$460.00 was paid by credit card telephone payments by other benefactors who responded to our plea for help on the Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fund drive. Thank you's will be sent to all who gave and we are thinking of creating a memorial wall with names on the wall when we create the facebook account. I think that would be fitting to place the love associated with all who answered the call for young Gabriel to be laid to rest. Watch for announcement about that site. It will happen when we have a little breathing time.

That is a total paid on the coffin of $1,010.00 as of a half hour ago. It is 12:05 pm Tuesday, June 2, 2009.

That is the good news.

What is the disheartening news?

We still need $250.00 paid today by 5 pm Pacific Time. If you can, call the Girdner Funeral Home and do what you can by that deadline.

The funeral parlor
gave us a little leeway on the balance still owed of $400.00. We are sweating this a little but we have not given up hope in the good graces and compassion of the people. Raven and I are still fund raising in Yreka to see what can happen. The folks at the funeral parlor are giving us a few days to pay the remaining but we want to pay it so the efforts can move to covering the burial plot and other funeral expenses. That is another $1500.00 rounded off.

Wee Hours in the Morning on Deadline Day

Good morning all you special people who have shown your various expressions of love and compassion through words, comfort by being there or by donations for this most special cause. Gabriel is indeed a beautiful soul.

(White) Raven and I (Summer Breeze) are sitting in Yreka figuring how much needs manifested for tomorrow by the deadline quoted by the funeral home to pay the balance on the coffin. Rounded off figures without calculating any donations not in hand we estimate that we still need $800.00 just for the coffin, give or take a few dollars. We'll tabulate exact amounts in the morning because it's hard to hold my laptop while sitting in the van's front seat with it on my lap. It makes me wonder why they call it a laptop. ha ha ha

The burial plot is approximately $1584.00 by the last estimate. At this time, there are no donations toward this part of the service for Gabriel because we are focusing on part one, get the coffin paid so Gabriel can be transported from Yreka to Arcata. The burial will take place on Thursday, June 4th in the Greenwood Cemetery in Arcata at 4:20 pm. I'll post address and directions tomorrow.

More photos of Gabriel arrived in my email inbox from Melissa, a friend of Woodstock's who is helping out at his house. I'll post those soon.

We're very busy running this fundraiser online and in person placing flyers all over Mount Shasta and Yreka and talking to people one on one. I spend many hours online updating, tweeting, plurking and announcing this cause on facebook and groups.

UPDATE: We are taking this Angels for Gabriel Memorial Foundation to new heights. All details will be posted after dear Gabriel is laid to rest. For now, all attention needs to be on him.

Watch for new twitter account to be announced, a facebook account, a myspace, a website, and other group links for Angels for Gabriel.

Donations Coming Slowly so Please Keep Giving

As of this morning at 10:40 am the donations total for the coffin have reached the sum of $410.00. That is still far from our goal of the needed total to pay for it by tomorrow at 5pm. The balance for the casket is at $1177.00.

NEW UPDATE: A donation of $200.00 was received this morning at the Girdner Funeral Chapel. Thank God and bless all these compassionate givers. Total needed for casket is $977.00 by tomorrow at 5pm.

We still need $1602.00 for the burial plot and cemetery fees once the coffin is paid in full. Please stay with us.

We'll be handing out flyers in Yreka today so please help us reach this goal so we can concentrate on funeral arrangements. God bless you and many heartfelt thanks to all of you who have so generously given.

We'll be updating the blog later with other news.

Update on our Fundraising Efforts

Gabriel Jaden Coates, 2 1/2 after a bath.

For the love of Gabriel.

We are striving to lay him in his final resting place. Please help make that happen soon.

Our efforts are going full force and we are hoping with all hope that the funds will start to roll in much faster. The total needed for the coffin at this point in time is $1417.87. We have raised $170.00 in three days so you can probably feel our anxiousness in seeing this total in donations climb.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The amount listed above is only for the coffin. To cover the burial plot and funeral services, we have been quoted $1602. 00 to cover that part of the service. It would also be nice to have some funds for the wake so we can cover some food and flowers for the grave. There is also some printing of memorial brochures that needs to be done.

If someone wants to help us with the posters and flyers and signs that Raven and I are printing tomorrow or with the Memorial brochures, please send a donation with that notation on it. It all goes to Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fund though.

We are printing flyers to circulate around Siskiyou county in hopes to inspire some local folks here to contribute to this effort of love and compassion for Gabriel and his family. That covers Weed, Mount Shasta and Yreka, California.

Gabriel is resting at the funeral parlor in Yreka so we will be staying close to him for this effort until the service on Wednesday. Afterwards, he will be transported by his father Woodstock to McKinleyville where the burial and wake will take place. We are waiting on final date, location and instructions from Woodstock (Loren) regarding those details. As soon as we know anything, it will be posted here.

We'll continue to post updates on the fundraiser so you will know where the help is needed.

If you want to send flowers, I would suggest sending them to the final resting place so I'll post that information soon. Cards should be mailed to :

Loren David O'Connor
1829 Cliff Avenue,
McKinleyville, California 95519.

Please leave your comments on this blog to let the family know you are thinking of them. Share your loving and compassionate words for them to read because they check this blog regularly.

As always, thank you for caring.

How to Make a Donation

People need several ways to make donations to the fund for the Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fund. I am posting that information here to make it easier for those who don't have a paypal account.

To make a donation to the paypal account set up for Gabriel's memorial fund, email angelsforgabriel@gmail.com. Or click the button below which will take you directly there. There is a donation located in the sidebar of this blog as well.

Memorial Fund for Gabriel

Direct bank deposits can be sent to the account we established for this fund. Here are the instructions:

Bank Branch: Wells Fargo
Person managing account: Cheryl Lynn Gardner
Savings Account No: 5763972659
Routing Number: 121000248

Please send all money orders and checks payable to Cheryl Lynn Gardner with the memo Angels for Gabriel Memorial Fund. Mail to : 1829 Cliff Avenue, McKinleyville, California 95519.

Call to verify at 240-863-6250 on my cell if you send anything or email angelsforgabriel@gmail.com. We have a person on that end who will make bank deposits for us so we can access the funds while we are in the Yreka area.

Another option is to moneygram to Walmart in Yreka, California with the receiver noted as Cheryl or Rickey Gardner. Again, please confirm by email that you sent funds so they can be picked up. This is a viable pick up point until Wednesday morning. The first service will take place at 4:20 pm in Yreka when we pick up little Gabriel for transport to McKinleyville/Arcata, California. I just spoke to Woodstock today Saturday, May 30, 2009 and he is making cemetery plot decisions and will be making funeral arrangements on that end.

Wednesday evening June 3 until June 7, all moneygrams or Western Unions should be sent to Arcata, California with the receiver as Rickey or Cheryl Gardner.

The other option is to mail a check or pay by credit card directly to the Funeral parlor. The address is listed in the sidebar. Please notify by email to the same one given above if you make this choice so we can keep track of how much is being paid for the casket and how much we need for the services. We'll post a notice whenever the casket is paid in full, at which time all money should go to paypal or the bank account or to moneygram to handle the other arrangements.

Thank you for your donations and your love.

Photos Taken at the California Regional Rainbow Gathering

May 2009. This is the final place where Gabriel walked on this earth. Please share it in remembrance of him.

Memorial Fund for Gabriel

It is with a heavy heart that I write this today because I miss a little boy named Gabriel. Watching his brother Raven and his father Woodstock, a/k/a Loren David O'Connor, suffer through the pain of their loss while trying to make arrangements for his burial, memorial and wake is really hard. Gabriel Jaden Coates was with us for a short 3 years, 3 months and 2 days, yet he has made a profound impression on the hearts of people that will last forever. He left this earth to enter the spirit world on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at about 11 am. Gabriel fell into the water of the Antelope Creek, which was fast moving and deep. His body was recovered by very compassionate rescue workers about two hours later.

Woodstock, Raven, his friends and family are sort of moving in a state of unreal shock. Things need to get done. So we are helping in whatever way we can. Funds are urgently needed to buy the casket and to buy a plot where he will be laid to rest. Please spread the word and help in whatever way you can.

Please visit the dedication site for Gabriel at http://www.angelsforgabriel.org. News and information about his memorial, burial and wake will be posted on this blog. Lots of pictures will be loaded soon that I took of the gathering site where little Gabriel drowned. We took photos of the creek and the campsite where he laughed, played and enjoyed. There is a very spiritual picture on the site now that shows what we believe is Gabriel's spirit that appeared while Woodstock and I were standing by the stream talking about Gabriel, about what happened, about his life, about what to do now. It is then that we both felt his presence and a butterfly landed on Woodstock after that moment. I took a photo in the direction of where they found Gabriel's body in the water and that is where the column of light appeared. It was an intense, sad, happy, etherical time.

We will be assisting Woodstock with transferring of funds to the Funeral home when it is placed on the paypal in the amount we need. The general manager Chris Girdner at the Girdner Funeral Chapel is giving us until Tuesday at closing time to come up with the total for the casket. This is urgent. Other arrangements are being made and other funds are needed very much. Please email angelsforgabriel@gmail.com if you have questions or if you want to help in some way.

The Forest Service, the fire department, the Siskiyou county Sheriff's department, the Fish and Game dept. personnel, and the townspeople volunteers from Tennant were very gentle, kind, compassionate during the entire ordeal. We are all grateful to them for the way they handled this situation.

I have many things to write and memorial signs and brochures to make, and a website to update, so please help us facilitate this link being spread far and wide to get the funds together. Gabriel deserves a decent casket, memorial, burial and wake. Help us give him that much, please. Woodstock should not have to concern himself with money at a time like this. Right now we are all camping in our rigs while this is all taking place, so family please plug into this compassionate service.

Much love and blessings.
Summer Breeze on behalf of Woodstock, Raven, Gabriel & Raven and
Jazzy all his friends and family.

A Memorial for Gabriel Jaden Coates

This blog is dedicated to a beautiful young soul who chose to leave this earth after three short years. While he was here, Gabriel touched the hearts of many lives and deeply touched the heart of his father and brother whom he left behind. Gabriel will always be remembered for the love he gave to those who knew this little man. He will be greatly missed on earth and always remembered. As a tribute, this blog is for Gabriel and his story. May it inspire others and move them to compassion. May it give a sense of timelessness while reminding us all how temporary life on earth can be for any one of us. Cherish those whom you love and are spending time with while they are here.

Please contribute to Gabriel's Memorial Fund. His grieving Father would appreciate any help in gathering funds to lay his soul to rest and to pay for a memorial service. Send donations by paypal to angelsforgabriel@gmail.com or click the donate button in the sidebar. God bless you for your compassion.

The Memorial Service information will be announced on this blog for those who want to contribute. We will be posting photos of Gabriel Jaden Coates in celebration of his life. We will be uploading photos of the gathering where he made his crossing into the eternal world. Pray for comfort for his family.

Boy, 3, drowns in Siskiyou County creek

A 3-year-old California boy camping with family members drowned Sunday in a Siskiyou County creek, police say.

Gabriel Jaden Coates was attending a gathering at an unimproved camp on Antelope Creek two miles south of the Siskiyou County town of Tennant, said Susan Gravenkamp, a Siskiyou County sheriff's office spokeswoman.

The boy and a brother, 9, had gone for a walk, and the older boy returned to the camp and said Gabriel was being watched by someone else, Gravenkamp said. When the boy's father, Loren David O'Conner, of McKinleyville, went to check on the toddler, he was no longer with the person who had been watching him, Gravenkamp said.

She said people at the gathering searched for the boy for two hours before contacting police.

Police officers, Forest Service employees, search and rescue volunteers and citizens continued the search and found the boy's body in the creek that afternoon, Gravenkamp said.

TENNANT -- A 3-year-old boy was found dead in a creek Sunday afternoon by rescue crews after the boy had wandered away from his family's Rainbow Gathering campsite, officials said.

About 30 members of the nomadic Rainbow Gathering group had gathered over the weekend off of Highway 97 on Antelope Creek in rural Siskiyou County, said Siskiyou County sheriff's spokeswoman Susan Gravenkamp.

Around 11 a.m., Gabriel Jaden Coates, 3, and his 9-year old brother had gone for a walk away from the campsite, Gravenkamp said.

The older brother returned to camp to get some candy and told his father, Loren David O’Connor, 32, of McKinleyville that another person at the camp was watching the boy, Gravenkamp said.

Gabriel never returned, and O’Connor went to check on him.

"The person watching Gabriel said the little boy was just there just a few minutes earlier," Gravenkamp said.

The campers searched for Gabriel for about two hours and then one of them drove to a residence in Tennant and called for help, she said.

A few hours later, a firefighter found the boy dead, under the water entangled in the limbs of a tree that had fallen across the creek about 50 feet downstream from the camp site, Gravenkamp said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the boy's exact cause of death.
