Prepare for the Summer Travel Season with Repair Pal
Posted by TheMidnightWriter at Tuesday, March 30, 2010This summer season looks like it will be a busy one for travelers already even with the inclement spring weather. But the weather is a good reason to make preparations for break downs, accidents and other auto emergencies that could happen. I've learned from extensive travel that it is far better to be prepared than to not be prepared.
I used to own a Toyota Corolla that I drove three thousand miles across country. If I had known about Repair Pal and its handy listings of auto repair shops or towing service garages, I would have saved lots of time and money. My oil seal leaked leaving my car completely dry with a mountain to climb and no civilization for sixty miles. If I had owned a handy little iPhone I would have used it to access the internet where dozens of local listings would have gotten me quickly out of a bind with a phone call. Instead, I rigged the problem with a stranger's help and drove my Toyota in its broken condition sixty miles to civilization.
Don't let this happen to you.
Bookmark this massive auto repair site that has listings all around the country. For example, if you are planning a trip to Chicago and wonder what's available, type in the search box Chicago auto repair. An extensive list will appear with pages of choices. All you'll have to do is scan the listings for particular services, vehicle make and model or to find out if new part replacements are performed in the city where you plan to travel. I always check for tire shops and brake specialists in advance of a long trip because they are common problems.
Some repairs can be done yourself but there are more extensive repairs like replacing a water pump that either requires detailed instructions or expert help from a mechanic. Don't worry, this information is provided on the website, too. Again, just type in the search box what particular repair you want to make and the part needed. An instruction page will guide you through the task of repairing your auto on the roadside or at home in the comfort of your garage or driveway, if you are lucky.
I hope you enjoy Repair Pal and all the convenience it offers. I call them my auto repair angels. I love the convenience. Who wouldn't like to be better prepared while traveling?
